Grant money at Chambersburg Area Middle School aids in purchase of software

The Chambersburg Area Middle School library department used the $250 grant from Creative Communication, Inc. to aid in the purchase of the $349 English Poetry Plus CD-ROM. The CD-ROM has been extremely well-received by faculty and students. The English teachers do a unit on poetry and come to the library to use the poetry resources. I show the classes how to use English Poetry Plus by doing an overhead projection of the computer screen, then the students may use the computer individually to access the program. They like having the ability to print biographies of poets and to print their favorite poems. Some of the poems are available in an audio segment of the CD, so the students can listen to the poem being read.
