Grant money at Deming Elementary funds poetry book
Thank you for your inquiry about the progress of Tripod's Poetry Book made possible by Creative Communication. We would like to update you at this point, and then send you photos and samples in June when the project is complete. It's been great fun! In our own classes, we have been busily doing group poetry projects, and art projects to reflect on through poetry. We've also done individual writing projects to include in our personal books. We've sent our mascot teddy bear (Baker McDab) to China, and did some writing about that. We marbled paper and did reflective poetry about it. There will be approximately 25-30 pages in the books including:
We will be sharing the books with parents in June. We hope to get photos of this event. We are also making a book with poems from all the classes in the school. This book will be in our new library at Kendall Elementary School (which will be completed in the fall of 1999.) It will have poems written by groups of children and dealing with memories and routines of Deming Elementary School. This book will be completed in June and shared at an assembly. We will be getting photos of this event as well. Thank you again for the support you have given for this project. It's been wonderful.
