Severn Avenue School Hosts Poetry Workshops
Severn Avenue School used its $250 in grant money to provide poetry writing workshops for all their Junior Division classes (Grades 4 - 6).
Lynne McCarney, Principal at Severn Avenue School stated that, “We certainly like the contest being extended to the primary grades this year. It's hard to remember the level of poetry which we sent in last year, but having just glanced through the book, I think that the quality of a number of our submissions this year has gone up a notch. I guess the workshop helped, and also the overall consciousness of poetry in general around the school. Once again, thank you for the opportunity for us to enhance our students' education.”
