I would just like to say it is not only a honor to be chosen for publication in the anthology, but it is a pleasure. Never did I for one second think that I would be chosen. I must admit that I was feeling down and lost and almost ready to give up, but when I received your certificate and your acceptance, it lifted my spirits. It made me feel alive again and like I could do anything I put my mind to. So I would like to say thank you, you have no idea what this means to me! It feels good to have everyone proud of you for something you love to do. You have no idea how happy I am that you like my poetry. So many times I have entered my poems, to contests, and I never even get in the top 1,000. I love writing poems, and stories. But I never got the support I need to go ahead with my dream to become a poet. Thank you so much. Reading the letter you wrote just made me cry. You have inspired me. Thank you. I thank you deeply for this great opportunity you have given me. I encourage you to keep this event year after year. I have been writing poems since kindergarten and have felt the rhythm which thanks to you it'll never stop. I have received the most precious present this February 24 for I received your letter on my birthday. Now I know what a blessing I have gained through life. I just wanted to thank you for selecting my poem. It has been a encouragement in my writing. I haven't written a poem in a while because I didn't think my work was good enough but now I realize if I put my heart into it, that I can do great things. I want to thank Creative Communications for having the contest that I may get my message out. I was very, very excited when I received my letter. The encouragement and happiness it gave me is indescribable. I just wanted you to know how much this meant to me and I want to thank you again for your acceptance. I am very honored to have my poetry published. I thank you for not only publishing my work, but also giving me the chance to win a savings bond for it. I am extremely flattered. Now, because of this newly found confidence and pride I will continue to write all the poetry that pops into my head! Thank you. I was accepted to be in your book 'A Celebration of New England's Young Poets - 1999' for my poem titled 'Friendship'! I appreciate it strongly, and you have made me very happy. You don't know how many people whom you have touched strongly just by saying 'your poem will be in a book'. Thanks, again. I can't wait to see my poem in a published book! Thank you for the incredible honor and opportunity of being published in A Celebration of Indiana's Young Poets. I confess, I was not expecting my entry 'Ground Fruit' to win any honors or mention. I was very surprised and excited to receive your letter. Your contest is an amazing opportunity for beginning writers like myself. Thank you for this great honor. I just recently received the 1997 volume of A Celebration of Young Poets and it was great to have my poem in a hard cover book where everybody - not just my teachers, parents, relatives and friends - could read my work! It was totally wonderful! Thanks! Thanks so much for boosting my self esteem! You made me feel so important! Thank you! First let me express my supreme adoration of how you put together last year's 'Celebration of Young Poets 1996'. My whole family and all of my friends liked how it looked and how it was presented. I wish to thank you for acknowledging my poetry and, in a round about way, believing in me. Even if I do not receive any further reward for my poem, just knowing that someone liked the way I write enough to publish it gives me some greatly needed self-esteem. As you can see by my poem, I am not exactly the most confident person. To be honest with you, I don't really like this poem that much in comparison to the rest of my personal collection. This poem I had written during a bout of depression, unaware of your contest. My English teacher from my freshman year has become a close mentor to me. I let her read the poem and she brought up the idea of entering it. I debated the matter for a few days, saying to myself over and over, 'What's the point? It won't get anywhere.' But, Mrs. Stewart is one person I know who truly has faith in me and I know would never set me up for failure. So, on that whim and at the last minute, I sent it in. When I received your letter stating that you wished to publish my poem, I screamed out of pure joy. I thought, 'Somebody likes it, somebody likes me! The poem is so morbid and full of misery, but they LIKE it!' Again, I thank you from the depths of my soul just for noticing me; no one ever has. I am very happy to hear of your decision to publish my poem. I think that this is a good thing that you folks are doing something to bring views like mine into the open. It is sometimes hard to get people to take you seriously when you are only fifteen. Keep up the good work. Hi! How are you? I want to thank-you for that letter you sent me. I was stunned that my poem did all that! I came home from school and got the mail. I was surprised to get anything. (I hardly ever get any mail) I opened it and all I could say was oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! I called my mom at work. I was huffing and puffing and she couldn't understand me! When I finally told her she was just as surprised as I was! So as I go on and on writing all this the main thing is that I'm really happy and I want to Thank You! I wish that when I grow up I get to write millions of scary, funny, fiction, action, non-fiction and children's books. So thanks again!
