Grant
money at Friendship Junior High School funds poetry program
The grant
allowed me to purchase five of Nancie Atwell’s “Lessons That Change
Writers” writing programs. One program went to each of my fellow
colleagues teaching eighth grade language arts, and through the use of
it, each teacher has been able to further implement the best poetry
practices into his or her curriculum.
We feel fortunate to be acquainted with your organization, one that is
sincerely dedicated to promoting poetry. My students’ egos soar
when they get news of publication in your anthology, and I truly think
this honor raises their appreciation and love of poetry.
