money at Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley School funds writing software
With the
grant, our English department purchased software to install on our
computers in our lab, mini-lab and library. The program is
entitled “Writers’ Companion”. It is a superb hands-on experience
of essay writing. It shows the students how to outline, compose,
edit, and publish their written work. We have used the program
extensively among our freshman level classes.
The unique part of implementing the use of this software is engaging
our computer “Geek Squad” to study the program and then actually teach
its capabilities to the staff at an in-service workshop and to the
students. Thank you for your gift!
