Grant money at Lake Shore Central Schools funds poetry lessons
I work
with 9 different classrooms as a reading/literacy specialist, and am
often asked to do poetry lessons. This year we have enjoyed using
our Scholastic “Rhyming Dictionaries” for composing couplets and
quatrains. It has been so helpful for each student to have his or
her own copy to use. I have also used the resource books for new
ideas and techniques to try. I also like the “Pocket Poetry
Mini-books” that focus on poems that my students can take home and read
to parents or siblings, and “Fun 15 Minute Poetry Writing Activities”
has been helpful with lessons.
Thank you for offering your contest to our school, and for
communicating the results with the school. We will continue to
