money at Merritt Secondary School funds poetry reading
Our
student representative council organized a “Beatnik-Style Poetry
Reading” at a local coffee shop. We had at least twenty-seven
students in attendance; and they each took turns reading their own
poems. Some students were in costume! Three door prizes
were also awarded. It was a wonderful way to celebrate poetry in
the community and outside of the school.
