TOP TEN WINNERS

Sneha Parthasarathy
Grade 9

America Screaming It's hard to remember who we used to be, forged by visions and empathy,
when we chucked stained tea and hypocrisy into the sea with glee,
in the land of the brave and the free.

Like eagles, our wings flew free, soaring in dawning skies of audacity.
We carved our dreams in reality, together in harmony, no matter our history,
in the land of the brave and the free.

Nothing's changed, but everything has, clouds shrouding red, white, and blue.
Screams of hate trumping you and me
and our hope, and love, and unity
in the land of the brave and the free.

Though the tyranny thunders steadily as injustice rains incessantly,
hark a broken plea

to remember our voices singing in melody
to the dream of dancing democracy,
to live with liberty, and to love happily
in the land of the brave and the free.

Please just don't let America be stolen from me.
